The Monstrous Regiment of Women

Some positive emails sent to the Gunn Brothers:

Message:  Your video is changing lives!! I received and watched my copy a couple of weeks ago. When my brother-in-law and his girlfriend came over a few days ago I casually showed her the video and told her a little about it. She was interested!! So, I said, “You can take it home and watch it if you want.” She didn’t hesitate, “YES! I would like to see it!” Today she watched it, and came up to see me and bring back the DVD. She has never, in the 2+ years that I’ve known her, come up just to visit. When she walked thru the door, I noticed the movie, and said, “Oh yeah, the DVD, did you watch it?”

She responded “YES, I LOVED IT!!!!”

She followed me to the living room and before she even had the chance to sit down she blurted out, “All I’ve wanted to do since I was 9 years old was have a family and stay home to raise my kids!! I didn’t know I could do that.”

We talked for 3 hours!!! More than once she said she didn’t even know that not going to college and having a career, but staying home to raise a family was even an option!! “I didn’t know other people wanted that too!”

Thank you so much!! She wants to go to church and get married and stay home with her babies. Even though I stay home and home school our 8 children, she still didn’t think it was an option for her. Seeing your video made her realize how deceived she was and that she is not crazy for having desires to stay home...”

May the Lord bless you greatly, you have blessed my life!

Jennifer R., and homeschooling mother to our 8 children

Message:
I just viewed this film and bravo! What an undertaking! I have 6 children, wear only dresses, homeschool, and have a headcovering. Talk about being "hated" when I go somewhere!

Thanks for taking on these tough subjects. I know you could go so much more indepth and I would love to see you put out another film on this same touchy subject even more indepth. I am sure my husband will be writing the men and we have looked into doing films like these--Lord willing! I was moved to tears and I can not find the words to express my gratitude. I also just read the hate "male" and realize what we are up against. May we all stand strong and resolve to not give up and live as the Lord would have us live. Blessings to you and you are in our prayers. All our homefellowship is watching this film!!!

Message:
I was very impressed with you film. (my husband too)It was informative and factual both of which i appreciate. I learned much from it. I think it is incredibly sad that women want to be men. I am thankful that the lord made me different from my husband. It is nice to see that other women have the same concerns and beliefs that I do sometimes you can feel alone and this just reminds you that the Lord has many faithful women in the world. I was raised in a non-Christian, non-home schooling home. It did me such a disservice. I hope you will have more films in the future, Thanks

Message: Hey Brother, great work on the documentary, WOW!

Message: I have watched the film once and plan to watch it again with my husband soon.  I found it to be biblically based and in line with our family's beliefs, yet challenging.

Message: Thank you for this film.   By God's grace, you have sounded the trumpet very clearly!   This DVD is bold and tells it as it is.   Very timely message for today.   May God bless this important message.    Keep up the good work!

Message: Thank you so much for such a wonderful thought provoking film.

Message: Is this message board only for "hate male"?  I hope not.  I love my husband, sinful, fallen man that he is.  And he loves me, "as Christ loves the church", I might add, despite the sinful, fallen creature that I am.  He is the budding patriarch of our home and we have such a rich, deep marriage.  I know most people will roll their eyes at my post but I just want to testify that the Word of God is true, and that the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Want to have a glorious marriage filled with affection, peace, joy, and even a wonderful fulfilling life behind the bedroom door (yes, even for the women!)?  Then love the Lord, love and obey his word, reverence your husband, and watch your husband cherish you more than you've ever known a woman can be cherished.  Oh, and all the sweet babies!  It is a sobering thing to raise children for the glory of God, and so much joy to be lost for missing out.  Well, even if you don't print this, I wanted those supporting the "Monstrous Regiment" to be encouraged.  I can't wait to see the whole movie, for I have a lot of respect for Mrs. Chancey.

Message: We have received and have viewed your newest movie!  I must say that it was very well done.  All of the views expressed by your commentators are right on.  My daughter and I have grown to admire these Godly women and enjoyed seeing their viewpoint which is not heard in today's media.

Message: One testimony I can personally give...My daughter and I volunteer at a Pregnancy Support Center near our town.  I have been busy caught up in homemaker duties and have neglected some of my volunteer time at the center.  After watching your movie and shockingly seeing the abortion scene, I was humbled before God.  I realized how important the work is at the center and the very next day had a new zeal for the work.  So, thank you for telling the truth.  It is very much appreciated!  Let us know of future movies!

Message: Well done, well done!  I just received my DVD today and sat down to watch it immediately.  As I watched, I was reminded of a recent sermon given by my pastor about the decline of the church and family.  He sited three simple reasons:  women in the workforce, materialism, and television.  Not many people have the conviction to say what you did in this movie, but more people need to and do it loudly.   At home wife and mom and another happy customer

Message: I viewed the DVD last night, and was impressed with the thoroughness and content in the film.  The interviews were well-done, and the message was extremely timely. The importance of addressing this issue cannot be underestimated.  Thank you for your treatment on this subject, a subject which is so crucial in our culture, as well as in our churches. Great work!

Message: we watched it 2 nights ago,  I only wish it were 4 hours long!!  I could have listened to more encouragement on being a homemaker.  It was wonderful!!

Message: Thank you for having the courage to speak the truth about family, children, and the social malignancy that is feminism. Ths is is a DVD we will be sharing with friends and family!

Message: I just wanted to tell you that I received the DVD, and my 14 year old daughter and I watched it this evening.  All I can say is:  WOW! and THANK YOU!  It contains a very powerful message that all women need to hear - young and old.  This film is very well done, and we really enjoyed watching it.  "The Monstrous Regiment of Women" provoked a discussion about whether college is right for my daughter, as well as opening up other topics for discussion, and I want to thank you for producing this film.
Again, well done!  And thank you for focusing on God and His perfect ways throughout the film....as I said, all women should see this film!

Message: We both thought you did a fantastic job with Monstrous Regiment - I was interested to learn about John Knox and his writings.  I gained an appreciation for Phyllis Shlafley who was mocked in the world I grew up in (along with Jerry Falwell).

Message: This film should be shown to and discussed by Christians everywhere.  Viewing it made me very sad and very angry.  It's my hope, however, that this sadness and anger will not only come to be shared by others but also translate to a thoughtful zeal for the institution of the family.  The honor of the Lord Jesus Christ deserves no less.  As his Servants, Christians need to be mobilized after watching this film -- for sake of the human race, the witness of the Church in the world, and for the glory of our Lord.  We cannot afford to remain silent any longer about the evils of the diabolical and deadly feminist worldview.  And Colin and Emily Gunn have done a great service in bringing this to our attention.

Message: We just finished watching the Monstrous Regiment. It was incredible. You and Colin did a marvelous job. It was well researched, concise, articulate and powerful. Not only did you expose the ugly truth and reality of feminism (truly a monstrous regiment), you did such a lovely job of showing the glorious truth of Scripture and God's beautiful plan for women. I would call it a masterpiece.

Message: When it ended I wanted to start handing out copies right away! I will be highly recommending it to many.

Message:  I haven't seen it, but knowing how much feminism has ruined our society, I am GLAD you made this documentary!  God created roles for men and women and we glorify Him in doing those roles!  It's not wrong to say that we are different from men.  God was not stupid when He assigned us specific tasks, then men for leadership, and the women as helpers.  I am glad that the LORD has instructed us how to love for His glory AND NOT OUR OWN STUBBORN WILLS.

Message:  What a sad commentary on our culture and society as a whole. Not the movie! The hate filled, intolerant, judgmental  and ignorant comments by those so afraid of the truth. I imagine this movie will incur a lot of anger. So does the Gospel. There are those nowadays who refuse the truth because they want to continue to live seperate from God and "do thier own thing.
Sadly it is not all about the individual. Rather it is about dying to selfish wants and through that becoming not a servant of man but developing a 'Servants Heart' to please God. That goes for men and women.
As a highly educated University graduate, nothing in this world satisfies me, challenges me, fuflills me as much as caring for my husband and 8 children.
No job, no answereing to some other person who absolutely does not have my best interest at heart entices me away from being a Homeschooling, Keeper of My Home.
I feel quite like a contributing member of society, not only am I building strong moral people to lead the next genrations, 6 of our children were adopted out of the Foster Care System (another abominable insititution). Some are brilliant, some have delays, one in particular has severe behavior issues. I would change nothing about my life or family.
I am proud to be a woman of God a wife and a mother. I am humbled by the Gospel and by the great calling I have been given.
The only hate eminating form this Documantary is the sad people who so fear the truth. Miss the point of what God calls women to be and thus make sad comparisons.  Thank you for this documentary!  BTW before any of you knee jerk liberals have a melt down, my eldest daughter is in Law School.
You simply do not understand Christs meaning of servanthood, or dying to oneself. You have an over exaggerated need to fit in to a decaying and immoral society. Count me out of fitting in!

Message:  I've watched it twice now and have learned so much. Thank you for all the time, research, and love you've put into this documentary. Christians need to be informed about how deep-rooted feminism is in our society.

Message: I recently listened to an interview with Kevin Swanson from the Generations radio program and one of the Gunn brothers. I was highly encouraged by what I heard! I was raised and strongly influenced by feminism, though I have been a believer since I was a chid. The Lord has continued to refine me by His Word and His Holy Spirit within me. Though I was so influenced by feminism (as everyone is these days), I am thankful to now be a stay at home mom of three precious children and to be living freely in my God-created role as a help meet to my wonderful husband!! There is no greater joy than to walk in truth and to live according to the roles that God has created us for as man and woman. After hearing your interview with Kevin Swanson I decided to check out your website. I kept smiling as I read all the "hate" messages about your movie. I have not yet seen your movie, but after reading all of those comments I am very excited to see it now! "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." It was so wonderful to hear that your wife had a role in narrating the movie as well. I'm sure you all have a wonderful marriage. God bless you and keep persevering.

Message:     Raised by a feminist and agnostic mother I felt sadness while reading the "hate male".  It took another 25 years to unravel the first 25 years of anti-men, anti-women philosophy of my mom.  My mother had a career and she was very good at it, but she wanted to be home - funny.  As her retirement years approached she was wornout and bedraggled by the hours it took to do her profession and the obvious lack of promotion that would meet her older years. Women younger and more highly educated were making more as a starting wage than she after over 20 years of excellent experience.  She became a bit bitter, and was glad to retire early in her late fifties and take care of her home. Life had come full circle, and though she was not a woman of faith, she did discover that a good education and a good job were not going to bring her "freedom" and self-worth.  I learned by watching her and chose to stay home with my daughter and raise her.  It was a wonderful experience.  Now that she is grown I co-own two businesses, both with my husband, and we live a comfortable life working in areas we did not get an education in - hah!  Mainly because private business ownership is not taught in college, but is the very best was for anyone (no matter what color, creed, or sex) to get ahead in life.  Business, not college, especially family-run, puts a husband and wife on the same team going the same direction.

I am now a Christian, though I never believed abortion was the answer when I was not.  I saw the devastation it caused in the women who were my friends, and even decades later, I still see them reeling from it.  But I did think a career would be an avenue to lifestyle and equality, and most importantly, happiness.  By thirty I figured out that was a lie.  That the workplace was often a place of gossip, unhealthy competition, leading to loosing your position or even your profession if you became a threat to someone more powerful than you.  The workplace is not a place of equality.  What's sad is that most of the women having abortions are teens to twenty somethings who have not yet discovered this truth, and therefore they base their life decisions on a fraudulent conclusion.  Once they've taken the life of their fetus they are left with only two ways to live out their lives: in denial of the pain they have caused themselves; or forever stooped over in spirit from the painful weight of it.

I am grateful for your efforts in this film to bring to a new generation of women the truth.  I hope they will listen. Of course, there is always forgiveness, but forgiving onself can be a difficult though necessary journey.

Message:  Thank you for a timely message on this vital subject. As a former feminist I agree with your assessments.

Message:  You have presented, on many levels, the ways feminism has not protected, venerated or esteemed women, but has actually brought great destruction, abuse and oppression to and on women and girls all over the world.  Additionally, though painful to view, I appreciate that you didn’t hide or gloss over the repulsive, heartrending and sickening atrocity of abortion and the reality of the gruesome death of tens of millions(!) of babies.  The different perspectives of the many angles of feminism you have presented have exposed the dreadful effect of the literally monstrous and far reaching regiment of women and the sad legacy of deceit, loss and degradation feminism has left women.  Feminism is insatiable and knows no bounds as your film so well documents.

Message:  Thank you so much for all the hard work that you put into making this film. I really appreciated it. I sat down with my parents and watched it yesterday; it was very moving. I am 18 and have have been raised in a godly home. I know about the lies of feminism, but I have never really witnessed it in this way.It was very well done. I appreciate that you took the time to get both sides of the story so I could hear it 'from the horse's mouth.'

Message:  I have just finished reading the comments reguarding "The Monstrous Regiment of Women" I have also seen some clips from the program. I believe that this program is a wonderful tribute to the feminine woman. Contrary to many of the hateful comments that I have read reguarding this program, I do not think that the program is in any way hateful or derogative towards any woman, feminist or not. Instead this program honestly presents the beauty and dignity of women and the precious vocation God has blessed her with; to be able to bring new life into the world is truly precious. I believe this program truthfully addresses society's severe denial issues with reguard to God's intent for men and women. I wish to extend my thanks to all of the people who have have worked to create this film. You are a blessing to our world and your program, "The Monstrous Regiment of Women" is a wonderful gift giving honor and glory to God.
